about B&Tailor
Since its establishment in 1967, B&Tailor has become the leader in bespoke tailoring in South Korea. The tailoring house is lead by master tailor, JungYul Park and his sons, Chad and Changjin. Apart from hosting their bespoke trunk shows 3 times a year, we also offer their Made-to-Measure program throughout the year.
the Made-to-Measure program
The main difference between Bespoke and Made-to-Measure is the amount of handwork. Although MTM has lesser handwork, a basted fitting will be provided just like Bespoke. All important parts are made by hand; example the collar, armhole and etc. Lapels are hand-padded and all buttonholes are stitched by hand.
the MTM processes
The measuring process is done with a fitting garment to see how the B&Tailor pattern fits and to check what to change. Notes will be taken down and necessary adjustments will be pinned on the fitting garment to determine the required changes.
The time from order to completion is roughly 2 months. A basted fitting will be ready in about 1 month and this time, the fitting will be done with the actual fabric. Similar to the measuring process, required changes will be marked with chalk and any adjustments will be pinned. The fitting will then be sent back to B&Tailor for completion and the order will be ready in another month.
